Making sure women and babies get the best care during and after childbirth is really important for their health and well-being. But right now, it's not easy to measure how good the care is in health facilities, whether they're following the latest recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), and how women feel about the care they get.
We are working on ensuring every women and baby receive the best care possible during and after childbirth
The Global Maternal and Newborn Platform is the first of its kind to measure quality of care and adherence to the latest recommendations from the World Health Organization in health facilities around the world. Importantly the Global Maternal and Newborn Platform also measures the experience of women during childbirth and the days following birth.
The Global Maternal and Newborn Platform consists of an extensive multi-country network of health facilities providing childbirth services.
This network not only monitors uptake of guidelines and trends but also disseminates evidence-based products and supports the implementation of WHO guidelines to continuously improve the quality of intrapartum and postnatal care at facility and national levels.
The first region on-board is the Asia-Pacific region!
